Yesterday she starting coughing and said, "Mom, there are three slugs left. These slugs are making me cough and making my hair fall out." Then, with a big smile on her face, she looked down at her stomach and said, "Let's tell those slugs to stop making me cough!! Stop it slugs!"
"The Deal" - If E isn't a "princess doctor" when she grows up, she might have a career as a lawyer. The kid knows how to negotiate. Discipline, as you can imagine, is a struggle right now. Everything we read reinforces that discipline and structure are still important. Even when going through chemotherapy, kids need structure. But she knows things are different and she is pushing those boundaries! Lately, we've taken the approach of making a deal. It seems to work pretty well. I will say something like, "The deal is this: If you eat a good dinner, then you can watch a little show after dinner." Or, "If you will brush your teeth without making a fuss, then you can use three princess chapsticks before bed." You get the idea. Well, our little negotiator has decided to start making the deal herself. "Mommy, If I do ________, then I get ________. That's the deal." Who's in charge here? Obviously, Evelyn is in charge...
This is a picture of Evelyn and Nahna painting. We do lots of arts & crafts (in between princess movies).
