Treatment #6

Evelyn got up this morning and said, "I want to see nurse karen so she can fix me up and then I can go home!"

She picked out a spinny skirt and shiny shoes. She loves dressing up to go to the doctor.

As soon as we walked in she started asking everybody she saw, "where's nurse Karen?" We had a longer wait than usual. So E had to be patient. She was in good spirits the whole time. Couldn't wait to see nurse Karen and give her the picture we printed from last week of the two of them.

Next week is going to be a harder week. We have to get an abdominal ultrasound and an x-ray. Just to check and make sure all is working properly. The last time E had those two things done her world turned upside down. We are nervous about how she will take it. It is making us anxious just thinking about it.

Also, next week is another double dose, with the "A" treatment. We are going to try and stay ahead of the vomiting with anti-nausea medicine on Friday and Saturday.

We met a little girl today who is Evelyn's age. She is going through 2 1/2 years of treatment. 6 months in and she has lost all of her hair. But she was smiling and wearing a pretty dress. We are constantly amazed at the resilience of these kids!

E has turned into a daddy's girl. He says not to worry. It will pass and be back to me soon :)

  1. We have her on our prayer list for our family devotions and we will continue to keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. Lean on God and He will give you the strength to make it through. Glad to hear she is taking things well and is in high spirits!
