Today was a "v" day. She had good numbers and is growing like she should be. Overall a good report!
E kept nurse Karen straight today. She told her that she forgot to bring the butterfly (port access) on her cart. And she had. It have us all a good laugh!
Usually we are in out and pretty quickly on V days. But we had few special extras today. The first was getting our Beads of Courage necklace started. E gets a bead for different things associated with her therapy: surgery, chemo, ER, blood drawn, overcoming fears, etc. we had a lot to get caught up on! At the end of her treatment she gets a purple heart. Her official honorable discharge :) It is sponsored by Kisses for Kate.
Second, nurse Karen had a special present for E. A cupcake necklace in a cupcake box! It is so cute. E loves the box as much as the necklace! She just loves nurse Karen! She just wants to hug her and stare at her. It makes going to the clinic fun for Miss E.
I will post pictures of her bead necklace once we get all the beads from the past few months on it. What a great idea! We love how they keep finding ways to make this a story of strength.
